Totally Locally Cookham Easter Trail 2023!

If you are not far from the beautiful village of Cookham this Easter, then why not join in with the Totally Locally Easter Trail? It’s a brilliant way to get out and about. The kids (and the adults) can spend the day looking for clues around the shops and have fun. You could even support a business or two.

The Cookham Dean PTA and Cookham Rise Primary PTA have organised this brilliant event that takes places over Easter – until Sunday 16th April 2023. Simply download a trail map (link below) for a small donation and print it off before your adventure.

There is also a walk bingo to do on your travels – where you look out for things in nature to tick off on the sheet. Plus some additional colouring activities. Take some crayons and why not stop in a cafe along the way to do them?

I took my daughter to do the trail – starting the fun by travelling to Cookham from Maidenhead on the train.

We then started from the train station on Station Road and Lower Road and made our way to the High Street. The trail map tells you where to look for the eggs in the windows – and you simply write the letter – and make sure you check the colour of the letter too. This will help you to solve the anagram.

There are also some clues to crack on some of the shop windows – for something extra to look out for. Plus some Egg-citing questions about the local businesses!

Perfect Family Easter Fun

We definitely made a day of it, walking around the village. The sun was shining – which meant getting an ice-cream from the ice-cream van by the moor and sitting by the river.

We also stopped for refreshments at two cafes! And Eva wanted to buy some books from the bookshop. We were even treated to some chocolate treats by some of the business owners – and we recieved a voucher from the bookshop.

If you fancy keeping yourself busy over the holidays, then this is a great trail to do. There are pubs and cafes to stop off for lunch – or take a picnic on a sunny day. Once you have completed the trail and managed to solve the clues – hand your map to Pike Smith & Kemp by 4pm on Saturday 15th April, the Little Bookshop by 4pm on Sunday 16th April or email it to pta@cookhamdean.org to be in with a chance of winning prizes!

Have fun!
