Taplow Lakeside Oktoberfest

Reserve your table for the Oktoberfest at the Taplow Lakeside Cafe, Amerden Lane, SL6 0EA on Friday 30th September between 5pm – 10pm and Saturday 1st October between 12pm – 5pm and 5:30pm – 10:30pm.

There will be traditional German food on the Saturday and woodfire pizzas on the Friday. Deposit of £5 per person (Saturday 5:30 session and Friday session are both fully booked).

Taplow Lakeside Oktoberfest

Dorney Lake Marathon and Half Marathon

The Dorney Lake Marathon and Half Marathon will take place at Dorney Lake on Sunday 2nd October from 9am.

Each runner will get a medal, water and post-race snacks on the day. Register your place online.

Maidenhead Boundary Walk

The annual Maidenhead Boundary Walk will take place from Boutlers Lock carpark on Sunday 2nd October from 9am.

It is open to walkers of all ages and abilities. You can walk as a group, a family or individual. It is an opportunity to join in with this historical event and raise money for your chosen charity or just for fun. There is also a shorter walk as an alternative option.

Women’s Walking Football

Join the Magpies in the Community for a free session of Women’s Walking Football on Tuesday 4th October at the Braywick Leisure centre (astro turf) between 12.30pm – 1.30pm.

No need to book, just turn up. First session is free then it’s £4 pay and play.

Cherry Pickers of Cookham Dean Comedy Night

The Cherry Pickers of Cookham Dean have organised a Comedy Night on Friday 7th October at the Cookham Dean Village Hall, SL6 9PD. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm.

A Hoppy Place Oktoberfest

A Hoppy Place Maidenhead will host their Oktoberfest at A Hoppy Place, Park Street, SL6 1TJ on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October. There are various sessions to choose from and you can book your slot online.

German and UK premium beers and lagers. Turn up in your lederhosen or dirndl for 15% off all night.

Carters Steam Fair at Holyport

The Carters Steam Fair will be at Holyport Green SL6 2JL on Saturday 8th October between 11am – 10pm and Sunday 9th October between 11am – 7pm.

The iconic family run steam fair will be at Holyport for their penultimate location of their final tour. There are vintage rides and fairground attractions. There will be a free firework display on Saturday night at 9pm.

If you book your tokens online, you will get 12 rides for the price of 10.

Re:Charge Family Drop in Sessions

Re:Charge is a registered charity and have weekly family drops in sessions every Thursday at Wesley Hall, High Street Methodist Church, SL6 1EF and every Tuesday at Larchfield Community Centre SL6 4BB between 10am – 2pm

Sessions are £1.50 per family, with a space for children to play, enjoy arts and crafts and for everyone to meet new people.

Local events planner M2M Events will be holding another workshop about family financial planning on Wednesday 5th October at the Lord Grenfell, Oldfield Road between 7.30pm – 10.30pm.

There will be an expert panel who will clear up queries over university fees, saving accounts, setting up a will, inheritance tax and more. There will be drinks and nibbles included in the price and an opportunity for a Q&A session. Book your tickets.

The Maidenhead Farmer’s Market returns on Sunday 9th October at Grove Road carpark SL6 1SQ between 9.30am – 1pm.

This independent market sells fresh quality produce – such as meat, fish, dairy, seasonal vegetables, preserves, bakery and more.

Full Moon Paddleboarding

Paddleboard Maidenhead will be taking a group of paddleboarders out to witness the Hunter’s Moon on Sunday 9th October from Medmenham near Marlow.

Paddleboard and equipment hire is available if you don’t have your own. The activity will last around two hours and you will be guided by an experienced and qualified paddleboard coach.

Nature Tots at Woolley Firs

There will be a Nature Tots session on Friday 14th October at the Woolley Firs Environmental Educational Centre, Cherry Garden Lane, SL6 3LJ between 10am – 11.30am.

This outdoor event is for children aged 18 months – 4 years. They will need to be with an adult and it’s recommended that children are able to walk to get the best out of the event.

Maidenhead Repair Cafe

The monthly Repair Cafe returns on Saturday 15th October at the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road between 10am – 3pm and marks International Repair Day.

The Repair Cafe is led by coaches who can teach you how to mend or fix your broken items. Items include electricals, laptops or software, textiles, picture frames and more.

It is free to book, but this must be done by 1pm on the last Thursday prior to the event.

This years Berkshire Oktoberfest will take place at the Braywick Leisure Centre on Saturday 15th October between 12pm – 11pm. Book your session online.

There will be live music, two pint steins a variety of drinks and there will be food vendors selling traditional German hot and cold food.

There will be an evening of live music in aid of the Re:Charge charity on Saturday 15th October at St Peter’s Church, St Peter’s Road, SL6 7QU from 7.30pm.

Suggested donation of £7 on the door, refreshments and raffle.

The Maidenhead Town Show 2022 will now take place on Saturday 22nd October between 10am – 4pm on the High Street and in the Nicholson Centre.

There will be performances, the annual dog show, a craft market, competitions, stalls and more. Free to attend.

Berkshire Birds of Prey 

The Berkshire Birds of Prey will be back at Crocus at Dorney Court on Monday 24th October between 10am – 4pm.

This event is free to attend and will take place in the half term outside in the walled garden. No booking necessary. If you would like to handle a bird, there will be a charge of £2 (cash only).

There is a free stay and play group on the last Wednesday of every month. This month will be on Wednesday 26th October at Southgate House, Bailey Close, SL6 7WY between 10.30am – 12pm.
