Maidenhead Parkrun
What is Parkrun?
Parkrun is a free community event which takes place on Saturday mornings. There are Parkruns all over the world, so you are likely to come across one in your town.
The Parkrun is exactly what it says – it’s a 5K run in a park or an open space. Everyone is welcome from kids to grown ups, and even babies in buggies. It’s a great community event where locals can get together and support one another on their run, jog or walk. You can even volunteer to marshal the event. There’s no time limit as it’s not a race – and it doesn’t matter if you don’t manage to make it to the finish line.
As well as the Parkrun, there are also 2K Junior Parkruns which take place on Sunday mornings for children aged four to fourteen. The Maidenhead Junior parkrun is at Ockwells Park.
Where is the Maidenhead Parkrun?
The Maidenhead Parkrun is in Braywick Park, and the course is a mixture of hard trail paths and loose gravel. There may be some wet and muddy areas, but will have marshals or signs at these sections.
The run starts at 9am every Saturday morning. Simply register online if it’s your first time, before you turn up (you can register via the Maidenhead Parkrun website) and bring your scannable barcode along. This will record your time. If you don’t bring your barcode, then your time won’t appear on the results table.
There is a positive community of runners and volunteers, and you are even invited to go for coffee after your run if you like. The parkrunners often head to Stafferton Lodge for a post run coffee.

You can go as often as you like to Parkrun – you can even take some time out or volunteer that week instead. You can also take your barcode to any Parkrun anywhere and join in – you are not limited to one area.
