July Events in Maidenhead

If you are looking for activities and things to do locally, then here is a list of events in and around Maidenhead that are taking place in July. **Note this is a 2022 list, but do check back nearer the time for updates**

There is something for everyone, including children’s workshops, family entertainment, markets, festivals and more!

Rock the Rec

Rock the Rec Picnic in the Park will take place at Pirate Park, Dedworth, SL4 5BD on Saturday 2nd July and Sunday 3rd July, 12pm – 7pm.

Purchase your tickets either online or at Woody’s cafe for a weekend of live music, stalls, a funfair, arts and crafts and a mini vegan market. All in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Emma Bridgewater Pottery Sale

Everyone is welcome to the Emma Bridgewater pottery sale at the Holyport Memorial Hall, SL6 2NA on Sunday 3rd July, 12:30pm – 3pm.

Head along to browse the sale, enter the raffle and enjoy the refreshments on offer. Proceeds go towards the Maidenhead Cat Rescue charity.

Story Time at the Maidenhead Library

There will be a special Peter Rabbit story time with you and your child at the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road on Monday 4th July at 10:30am and at 4pm.

No Booking required, just turn up.

Queen’s Baton Relay

The Queen’s Baton Relay will be welcomed to the Royal Borough, starting from Library Square on St Ives Road, Maidenhead on Wednesday 6th July from 9:20am.

As part of a 25 day tour around England, there will be various baton bearers along the way including British powerlifter Louise Sugden from Maidenhead. 

The start of the relay will go from Library Square, along the Waterways in a in Canadian canoe and can be watched from the Waterways bridge.

It’ll then go to Windsor Alexander Gardens via Taplow Lake and then Eton.

Repair Cafe Maidenhead

Book into the Repair Cafe at the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road, SL6 1QU on Saturday 9th July between 10am – 3pm.

Run by volunteers, the repair coaches will work with you to fix your loved items. They can repair items such as books, woodwork, electrical items, textiles and glassware.

It is a free event, but you must book your ticket in advance to allocate your time slot.

Holyport FC V Maidenhead United

Holyport FC and Maidenhead United will be having a preseason friendly at NMCC Sports Bar, Summerleaze, SL6 8 SP on Saturday 9th July. Kick off at 11:30am.

Gates open at 10:30am and there will be family activities – including a bouncy castle and face painting. There will be a beer tent, BBQ and pizza oven.

You will also get a free pint at the beer and cider festival when you show your Holyport ticketpass ticket.

The Maidenhead Beer and Cider festival will take place on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th July at the NMCC Sports Bar, Summerleaze, SL6 8SP between 12pm – 11pm.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance for £4 or £5 on the door. Head to the website for all the details.

Maidenhead Bikeathon

The Maidenhead Rotary Club Bikeathon takes place from Maidenhead Office Park, Littlewick Green, SL6 3QQ on Sunday 10th July, 8:00am.

The bikeathon is not a race, and is for families looking for a fun event or individuals who enjoy cycling or would like a challenge. There are three routes to choose from to cater for different ages and abilities.

Maidenhead Farmers’ Market

The Maidenhead Farmer’s Market will be at the Grove Road Carpark, SL6 1SQ on Sunday 10th July, between 9:30am – 1pm.

You will be able to purchase fresh produce from local farmers and small businesses. Such as meat, eggs, fruit and veg, local honey and preserves, bakery products and more.

Full Moon Paddle

This month’s full moon paddle will start from Medmenham on Wednesday 13th July, at 8:15pm.

Being on the river is an opportunity to experience the supermoon in all its glory. You will be together in a group and there will be an opportunity for yoga and meditation – depending on the group.

Board and equipment hire is available if you don’t have your own.

Pond Dipping for Adults

Book onto the Pond Dipping for Adults session at Woolley Firs Education Centre, Cherry Garden Lane, Maidenhead, SL6 3LJ on Saturday 16th July between 10am – 1pm.

Tickets are £5 each, and it is a practical event using the two ponds at Woolley Firs. You will be learning about insects, aquatic invertebrates and plants, and have access to the hand lenses and microscopes in the centre. You are welcome to take a picnic.

There is also a family Nature Tots session on Friday 15th July at the same location, between 10am – 11:30am. This is an outdoor activity for children aged 18 months – 4 years. Tickets are £7 per child.

Family Funday at Ockwells Park

**Cancelled due to hot weather** There will be a family funday at Ockwells Park, Cox Green on Sunday 17th July between 2pm – 6pm.

There will be stalls, games such as tombola, entertainment, music, food and drink stalls, gifts and crafts, refreshments and more.

Maidenhead Vegan Fiesta

Sparkle Vegan Events will be bringing the vegan market back to the Maidenhead High Street on Sunday 17th July, between 11am – 3pm.

There will be stalls selling plant based goodies and cruelty free products. There will be dairy free cakes and treats, meat free food, artisan gifts and crafts and more.

The Berkshire Birds of Prey will be visiting Crocus at Dorney, SL4 6QP on Wednesday 20th July between 10am – 4pm.

It will be an outdoor event, free of charge. If you would like to handle a bird, you can for £2. The Berkshire Birds of Prey can only accept cash.

 Maidenhead Festival 2022

The annual Maidenhead Festival takes place in Kidwells Park on Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July, 10am – late.

There will be plenty to do with a Kid Zone with fairground rides, a giant sandpit and more. Plus stalls, food, drink, entertainment, live music and games on the main stage, fireworks and so much more.

The Greatest Magician

This dazzling new magic show comes to the stage at Norden Farm, Altwood Road, SL6 4PF on Saturday 23rd July at 8pm.

Expect laughter and disbelief with illusions and vanishing acts. Directed by the late Paul Daniels featuring the magician who is famous for predicting the lottery. Head to the Norden Farm website for more details and to book tickets. Prices from £17.50.

There will be a family friendly festival at The Braywick Nature Centre, Hibbert Road, SL6 1UU on Saturday 23rd July, 12pm – 5pm.

It will be a day of pond dipping, minibeast hunting, face painting, live music and stalls. Free entry.

Bugs, Birds and Beasts Day

Sign up for this free event in the summer holidays. Bugs, Birds and Beasts Day will be held at Imperial College London’s Silwood Campus, Ascot, SL5 7PY on Tuesday 26th July between 12pm – 5pm.

To mark the 75th anniversary of Silwood Park, families can go along on a bug hunt, watch live birds eggs develop and find out wonderful facts about the creatures. There’s also pond dipping, falconry displays and lab exhibits. BBQ and refreshments available.

There will be a free health and wellbeing fayre at St Luke’s Community Hall, Norfolk Road, SL6 7AT on Tuesday 28th July, 11am – 2pm.

There will be organisations and charities, as well as refreshments, kids crafts, a prize draw and more.

Minions: The Rise of Gru will be showing in the Courtyard Theatre at Norden Farm on Friday 29th July at 4:30pm and a relaxed showing on Saturday 30th July at 11am.

Find out when 12 year old Gru becomes the master of evil and begins plotting to take over the world from his basement. It doesn’t go particularly well. When Gru crosses paths with the minions, this unexpected family joins forces.

Fancy an 80’s night? There will be a ‘back to the 80’s’ at Boyne Hill Cricket Club, Highway Road, SL6 5AE on Saturday 30th July at 7pm.

There will be a DJ, BBQ, cocktails and retro music. Free entry and non members are welcome.

There is a Family Zoo Day at BCA Zoo, at BCA College, Burchetts Green, SL6 6QR on Saturday 30th July between 9am – 12pm or 1pm – 4pm.

Tickets are £8 each (children under three go free) and must be pre-purchased online. During your slot, you can explore the zoo courthouse, reptile house, and farmyard. There will be zoo keeper talks, feeds and arts and crafts.
