Rebecca Bennett - Jack and Alice Crafts

Jack and Alice Crafts

Art Workshops

Rebecca Bennett runs Jack and Alice crafts, from her home in Marlow and at other local venues. Her business was started in lockdown and is named after her two children. Rebecca runs dry needle felting craft workshops for small groups, which is a craft suitable for beginners as well as those with experience. Landscapes or seascapes can be created by using different types of wool and felt.

She also teaches ‘free machine embroidery’, which is also known as free hand sewing, where designs can be ‘drawn’ using the sewing machine.

Rebecca’s Background

Rebecca has a background in art. She studied Fine Art and Sculpture at the University of Gloucestershire and went on to teach Art and Design to secondary school students for thirteen years.

Rebecca has created pieces which she sells on her Etsy page, and has been running workshops for small groups, where designs are created from beginning to end, and then taken home.

All materials are provided, including wool, frames, and tools. Rebecca gives guidance throughout in a relaxing environment. She provides inspiration for creations, such as photos and images. Or those attending can bring their own to work from. This could be a photo of a favourite beach or from a memorable holiday.  No experience is needed, and gift vouchers are also available.

Get in touch with Rebecca to book a workshop or a private party or visit her pages to find the next class. Details above.

About Jack and Alice Crafts

You have a background in art and design. Have you always been creative?

I have always loved Art. I was always drawing.

I’m dyslexic, and I remember finding school (especially early years) quite difficult. Art was always something I could achieve in and do. I was good at it and it felt natural.

When did you discover dry needle felting?

Just before lockdown I went on a workshop and loved it. I was fascinated by it and how you could create an image out of felt.

Then lockdown happened and it was pushed to the back of my mind.

Do you think you may offer different kinds of art workshops in the future?

Definitely, this is just the start. Please follow my Facebook page where any new workshops will be advertised. I am hoping to do the following:

  • Dry needle felting of any image
  • Fizz and Felt
  • Teaching felting to children
  • 3D felted bowls
  • Wet felting

My degree was in Sculpture so I would also like to develop my workshops and teach mosaics.
