Free Friday Softball Sessions

Head along to Newlands Girls School, Farm Road, Maidenhead, SL6 5JB on Friday evenings at 18:00 – 19:30 to try out Softball! It’s something different, social and active – and these weekly Softball sessions introduce the sport through a series of fun activities and games.

Everyone is welcome (minimum age of 14) and no experience of Softball is needed. Sessions are run by qualified coaches and all you need is to come in your indoor sports attire. It’ll be held in the hall, with free parking in front of the school.

M2M events in Maidenhead

M2M Events – Clueless about 11 Plus

After the success of their January events, M2M events are holding another workshop at The Lord Grenfell, Oldfield Road, Maidenhead. It is on Wednesday 9th February at 19:30 – 22:30.

The events are exclusively for Mums (or parents) who would like to attend the workshops and get social too. You can join a friendly group who are bringing Mums together in a non judgemental way.

The Clueless About 11 Plus workshop will be led by a panel of local teachers who will explain the 11 Plus process. They will cover what the 11 Plus is, how to prepare your child for it and options for tutoring. There will also be plenty of time to mix with others in the group and enjoy drinks and nibbles.

RhymeTime at Maidenhead Library

Join Riyaz for fun rhymes and stories on Saturday mornings at the library in Maidenhead from 10:30am – 11:00am. A great way to introduce your child to stories in a sociable setting.

No booking required, just go along and have fun. The library is situated on St Ives Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1QU

Lingotot February Half Term Spanish Camp

Lingotot are open for bookings for the half term Spanish Camp on Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th. They are held at the Cookham Rise Methodist Church and will run from 9am – 3pm, with an option for early drop off at 8:30am.

There will be plenty of fun, party games, yoga, songs and stories with a different theme for each day. Your child doesn’t need to be able to speak Spanish to enjoy the camp.

Available for children aged 5- 11 (or from aged 4 if they are already in full time reception). Sibling discounts are available.

Disney Encanto (PG) Screening at Norden Farm

Disney’s latest film Encato will be showing during half term at Norden Farm, on Wednesday 23rd Feb (16:30) and Thursday 24th Feb (11:30 and 14:00). There is a relaxed screening on Thursday 24th at 14:00 which is ideal for families with babies, toddlers and children with SEND.

Tickets are £7 for under 16’s and £9 for 16 and over. Family and friends (4 people) £28.

Maidenhead’s Tuneless Choir

The Tuneless Choir ‘sing like no one is listening’ on Wednesday evenings from 20:00 -21:15 at the United Reformed Church (SL6 1RL). They welcome anyone who LOVES singing – especially if they don’t think they’re any good at it! It has been described as mob karaoke – hugely uplifting and tonnes of fun.

 On 16th February they have their annual ‘LURVE’ Tuneless theme night where they claim to ‘crucify’ slushy love songs and celebrate all relationship status’. And wrap up the month with a ‘Night at the Musicals’ on 23rd February.

Code Ninjas Half Term Camp

If you’re looking for a half term camp with a difference, take a look at Code Ninjas Maidenhead – situated at the Braywick Leisure Centre.

This coding franchise transforms your child’s love for tech – teaching them fun coding techniques. They run clubs for kids during term time, then throughout the half term you can drop them off for the day, while they learn as they play.

Magical Bones: Black Magic At Norden Farm

Join Bones, the Britain’s Got Talent finalist as he takes to the stage at Norden Farm, on Altwood Road, Maidenhead. This is his much anticipated debut UK tour after selling out at the Edinburgh Festival.

He will be performing mesmerising illusions, and break dancing routines in a jaw dropping show, on Thursday 10th February at 20:00.

Pop Up Bowie 

Experience the magic of David Bowie with this tribute act, fronted by Paul Anthony. It will be showing in the Courtyard Theatre at Norden Farm, Altwood Road, Maidenhead on Saturday 5th February at 20:00.

Tickets are £16 and you can enjoy two hours of Bowie’s music and hear his biggest hits, in this theatrical performance. Paul Anthony was voted the UK’s number one David Bowie tribute band by WHY? at the National Tribute Awards 2016.

the elves and the shoemaker

The Elves and The Shoemaker

Join the Elves and The Shoemaker on stage this half term at Norden Farm, Altwood Road, Maidenhead. This magical show, suitable for children aged 3 and over will be showing on Tuesday 22nd February at 11:30 and again at 14:00. Then on Wednesday 23rd February at 11:30 and 14:00.

This well known classic tale will be told with a beautifully crafted set and puppets. 

It runs for 55 minutes with a relaxed performance (suitable for families with newborns and small children and children with SEND) on Wednesday 23rd at 11:30am.

The Hug, at Norden Farm

On Thursday 24th Feb at 11:30 and at 14:00 there will be two showings of ‘The Hug’, presented by Long Nose Puppets.

It is based on the heart warming book by Eoin McLaughlin and Polly Dunbar, and has been adapted for the stage.

Tickets cost £10 for under 16’s and £12 for over 16’s. Family and friends (4 people) £40. The show lasts for 45 minutes, with extra time afterwards to ‘hug the puppets’.

random and rocks superhero party

Random and Rocks Superhero Party

Random and Rocks are excited to present their fantastic superhero party, on stage at the Braywick Leisure Centre.

It will be on Friday 18th February between 17:30 and 19:30 – doors will open at 17:00.

Tickets are £9 per person and under 4’s go free! There’s plenty of seating for the grown ups while the kids enjoy the party – with a bar. There will also be pizza available at the cafe if you fancy a family dinner there.

What’s included? Expect loads of party games, superhero challenges, fancy dress, silly string and slime, a live entertainment stage show and lots of dancing!

Let’s Dive in February Half Term Activities

Let’s Dive In are running a half term aquatic programme at Claires Court School, College Avenue, Maidenhead.

The activities run from Tuesday 22nd – Thursday 24th and are available to book. It is a three day learn to swim course with certificate and additional 45 minute activities which can be booked together or separately.

Free Monthly Homebirth Group

If you are expecting a baby, then the experts at the Bump and Beyond Hub, at Longridge, SL7 1RE are on hand to offer you and your partner all the support you need.

They are offering free monthly groups at the hub, and starting on Tuesday 8th February at 19:00 you can join the supportive group for a chat or have all your homebirthing questions or concerns answered.

If you have previously had a homebirth, then you’re also welcome to go along, and share your experiences. There will be tea and biscuits and you will be warmly welcomed.

Make Maidenhead Presents The Lunar New Year

Join in and celebrate the Year of the Tiger in Maidenhead this February! The celebrations will take place on three dates on the Maidenhead High Street and in the Nicholsons Shopping Centre.

On Saturday 5th February at 1pm, Eagle Claw Kung Fu School will present The Lion Dance in the High Street. Head down and enjoy the show, as they perform The Lion Dance.

Then on Thursday 24th February between 11:00 and 15:00 there will be free family crafts in the Nicholsons Centre – you can just go along.

And on Saturday 26th February, there will be a food market on Maidenhead High Street between 10:00 – 16:00.

Maidenhead Farmers Market

This month the Farmers Market will be on Sunday 13th February. You’ll find it on the Grove Road Carpark, SL6 1SQ between 9:30 – 13:00.

The Maidenhead Farmers Market is Berkshire’s longest running independent farmer’s market, with fresh produce direct from the farmers.

You’ll also find local sellers selling coffee, gin and local honey – as well as fruit, veg, bakery meat and dairy. So do pop along and support local!
