December Events in Maidenhead
We have rounded up a list of regular events that will be taking place in Maidenhead this December. These are non-festive events – but for Christmas happenings check out the Christmas Markets post or the Christmas Events in Maidenhead post.
Some need to be booked beforehand, so do check that out before attending. **Note this is a 2022 list, but do check back nearer the time for updates**

Rob Newman Live on Stage
Award winning comedian Rob Newman will be live on stage at Norden Farm, Altwood Road on Thursday 1st December at 8pm.
Fresh from his BBC Radio 4 series Newman on Air, get your tickets to see him live at the Courtyard theatre.
Lantern Making Workshops
You can make your own lantern before the lantern parade takes place in town. These two hour workshops involve weaving a willow animal inspired frame and then covering and decorating.
The workshops take place on various dates. Norden Farm on Saturday 19th November and Saturday 26th November at 10:30am – 12:30pm and 2pm – 4pm. Saturday 3rd December 10:30am – 4pm (prebook).
Nicholsons Centre on Sunday 27th November and Sunday 4th December 10:30am – 4pm (drop in). And workshops at the Maidenhead Library on Saturday 10th December (parade day) 10:30am – 2pm.
Sessions are suitable for 6 years and over. 3rd December session suitable for 17 years and over. Prices vary.
The Carnival of the Animal Lantern Parade
The Norden Farm Carnival of the Animals Lantern Parade sets off in the town centre on Saturday 10th December between 4:30pm – 6:15pm.
There will be live music, entertainment and artwork, as everyone is welcome to light up the sky with their lanterns. The parade will take a new route around the Maidenhead waterways to celebrate the new Riverside Quarter.
Repair Cafe Maidenhead
The monthly Repair Cafe returns on Saturday 10th December between 10am – 1pm at the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road.
This free event requires booking in advance. Repair coaches will assist you to mend your broken household items- such as small electricals, textiles, picture frames, small furniture items, software and more.
Maidenhead Farmers’ Market
The Maidenhead Farmers’ Market will be on Sunday 11th December between 9:30am – 1pm at Grove Road Carpark, SL6 1SQ.
Local producers will be there selling quality meat, fish, fruit and veg, honey and preserves, gin, coffee and more.
Card and cash accepted.
Tuneless Choir – The Big Maidenhead Christmas Sing!
Join the lovely Tuneless Choir Maidenhead for the Big Maidenhead Christmas Sing! It will be on Wednesday 14th December between 8pm – 9:15pm at the United Reform Church, West Street, Maidenhead.
Wrap up in your favourite Christmas jumper, don some festive accessories and get ready for a Christmas sing-a-long – no experience necessary!

Vegan Market Maidenhead
There will be a vegan market on Sunday 18th December between 10am – 4pm on the High Street, Maidenhead.
Find plant based goodies, sustainable coffee and more.
Ranger Guided Winter Walk
The Ranger Guided Winter Walk event takes place on Monday 19th December between 2pm – 3:30pm from the Braywick Nature Centre, Hibbert Road.
This free family event is suitable for any age and well behaved dogs on leads. Rangers Tom and Rosie will take you on a gentle stroll across the reserve to spot and learn about the signs of winter.
Dress appropriately and reserve a ticket to guarantee your spot.
Winter Solstice Night Run
Join the Maidenhead parkrunners for a special winter solstice night run, at Braywick park and nature reserve on Wednesday 21st December at 7pm.
This event will take place in the dark, and will not be marshalled. Head or body torches are compulsory, and be careful of your footings. Everyone is welcome and this is a freedom run – so no timekeeping.
Come in festive fancy dress and fairy lights if you wish. And afterwards there will be the option for social refreshments at the Toby Carvery.
New Years Eve Hoedown at The Farm
The New Years Eve Hoedown returns on Saturday 31st December from 8:30pm at Norden Farm.
Bring in the new year, by dancing to live music from Ceilidh and band dance band Cut a Shine. No experience required, as you will be shown what to do with this lively event.
