There will be a Teddy Bear’s Picnic at Woolley Firs Environmental Centre, SL6 3LJ, on Wednesday 3rd August, 10am – 12pm.

There will be craft activities and survial education. Bring a picnic and your teddy bear. Ages 2 – 5 years. Booking details below.

Join Riyaz for Rhymetime at the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road, SL6 1QU on Saturday 6th August, between 10:30am – 11am.

There will be a funday in support of Guide Dogs at the Craufurd Arms, Gringer Hill, SL6 7LY on Saturday 6th August, 2pm until late.

There will be face painting, music, cocktails, games, BBQ and more.

Summer Treasure Hunt at Norden Farm

This summer holiday, there will be a beach themed free treasure hunt around Norden Farm on Altwood Road. This will run throughout the summer from 22nd July – 25th August.

Inspired by Micheal Rosen’s sea inspired poem Over My Toes, children can follow the clues around the building. They can then get creative by making their own poems and pictures and sharing them on social media – tagging Norden Farm!

Collect your treasure hunt sheet from the box office or from the cafe bar.

There will be a Fun Day at Deep Meadows, Fifield Road, SL6 2NX on Sunday 7th August from 1pm.

There will be steam train rides, tombola, Punch and Judy, magician, coconut shy, craft stalls, BBQ, face painting, dog show, refreshments and more!

Maidenhead United FC will be at the Braywick Leisure Centre on Tuesday 9th August at 12pm for autographs, photo opportunities and a fun penalty shootout on the astro turf.

Full Moon Paddles

The team at Paddleboard Maidenhead will be heading out on the evening of Friday 12th August from Medmenham near Marlow.

This special evening paddleboarding session allows you to experience the Surgeon Full Moon at a gentle pace on the River Thames. There will be an opportunity for meditation and yoga on the board if you like.

Repair Cafe

The Repair Cafe returns to the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road on Saturday 13th August between 10am – 3pm.

The Repair Cafe is run by volunteers. The repair coaches will teach you how to mend and repair your broken items and bring them back to life. Items include electronics, woodwork, small textile items, IT assistance and more.

It is free to take your item along, but you must register in advance.

Pigs and Bears Don’t Come in Pairs will be shown at Norden Farm, Altwood Road on Friday 12th August at 11:30am and at 2pm and Saturday 13th August at 11:30am and at 2pm.

This story is told with puppets with original music. Suitable for families with children aged 3 – 7 years.

There is a free story time for children at the Maidenhead Library, St Ives Road every Tuesday between 10:30am – 11am.

No booking, just turn up. And head to the website for other sessions over the summer.

The monthly Farmers’ Market will return to Grove Road car park, SL6 1SQ on Sunday 14th August between 9:30am -1pm.

There will be fresh local produce such as fruit, vegetables, preserves and honey, meat, fish and more.

The Cookham Arts Club annual exhibition and sale is at Pinder Hall, SL6 9HF and runs from Tuesday 16th August – Sunday 28th August. Open from 10am – 6pm and on the 28th August it closes at 4:45pm.

Family Concertini with the Estrellas will be showing at Norden Farm, Altwood Road on Saturday 20th August at 11:30am and at 2pm.

There will be 45 minutes of Soul and Motown sounds of the 60’s – with dance routines and interactive disco dancing.

Family fun for children aged 0 – 8 years.

The Thames Valley Adventure Playground are having a party on the Bath Road, Taplow, SL6 0PR on Saturday 20th August between 11am – 3pm.

There will be a minibeast safari at the Braywick Nature Centre, Hibbert Road, SL6 1UU on Tuesday 23rd August from 2pm – 3:30pm.

There will be an afternoon of minibeast hunting – nets and pots provided. Suited for ages 4 – 11 year olds but anyone is welcome. £5 a ticket per child.

The Waltham’s World Cafe

The Waltham’s World Cafe will be a brand new space to get free support about important topics. It is at Woodlands Park Community centre, SL6 3GW on Thursday 25th August between 1pm – 3pm.

These topics include the cost of living, paying bills, affording food and how you can get help with this.

There’s no need to book – just turn up. It’s informal and fun. There is a £5 KSP superstore voucher plus more freebies

There will be a summer pond dip at the Braywick Nature Centre, Hibbert Road, SL6 1UU on Thursday 25th August between 10am – 11:30am.

Ranger Tom will guide you providing freshwater knowledge.

A great family activity – suitable for ages 4 – 11 but everyone is welcome. Tickets are £5 per child.

Explore the Start of Autumn

There will be a nature event at the Braywick Nature Centre, Hibbert Road on Thursday 25th August between 2pm – 3:30pm.

There will be a walk around the nature reserve collecting natural materials then ending the session with story telling in a woodland classroom. Suitable for ages 4 – 13 with adult supervision. Tickets £5 per child.

Gin and Rum on the Farm festival will be at Stroud Farm, Fifield, SL6 2NS on Saturday 27th August, 12pm – 9pm.

There will be several Gin and Rum bars from local and national distilleries. There will also be cider, beer and prosecco on site.

There will be live music and vinyl DJ’s and food plots.

Read Between the Wines Book Club Maidenhead

‘Read Between the Wines’ Book Club

Read Between the Wines book club is a brand new monthly book club, meeting at The Coppa Club, The Arches, Bridge Avenue, Maidenhead, SL6 1RR on Wednesday 31st August at 7pm.

The book club has been set up by two local ladies, Cat and Arisha, as they have struggled to find a book club in Maidenhead or the close surrounding area which is currently up and running.

By joining the free group using the Meetup link (below), you will have details of the book to read, members and location.

There will be a different book to read each month (with a crime/thriller theme) and on the last Wednesday of the month, you can simply get together at the Coppa Club and discuss the book over a glass or two.
